I'm visiting, rating, and ranking as many of Portland's 279 parks as I can. Check out the introduction and rubric. You can also check out the map and rankings here.

At 3.5 acres, this small park packs a lot of punch. There is no history of note, that I could find. In fact, the city’s website gives a zero-word description of the park. The park is attached to an elementary school. We visited on the weekend, but I’d assume that people will be discouraged from using the park during school hours.
Dog-friendliness: 4
I chose to give this park a high rating here, with the large and open field being the leading factor. The park is enclosed on all sides (except for the gap that serves as the park’s only entrance). It’s not a designated dog park, but it serves the purpose well. There are likely though to be other kids on the playground, or people using the small trail on the perimeter of the park.
Kid-friendliness: 4
Because the park doubles as an elementary school’s recess area, this park is a very nice spot to take your kids for the afternoon. There is a large modern playground, with multiple slides. A second play area has more swings than I think I’ve ever seen in a park. There are also two baseball fields with a soccer field in between them, but without a real barrier in between any of them, it just feels like a long and continuous space.
Unfortunately, there isn’t a public restroom here.
Walkability: 3.5
I thought the walk here was nice. There is no elevation change in a woodchipped trail that surrounds the park, and a few benches dot the trail if you get tired. Google Maps says this loop is around 1/3 of a mile.
Scenery: 2
Not much to say here. The park is inside of a playground, and the backyards of houses line the entire park. The field’s grass is kept short, and in the spring, patches of wildflowers and dandelions popped through.
Facilities: 2.5
This park gets pluses in the way of entertainment offerings, but negatives in the way of anything else. The fields and playgrounds are nice, but the basketball courts are unusable (one court had the rims removed, and the other is a mini court that has been dunked on so many times that the post is crooked).
Overall Score: 16
Ranking as of posting: 3 (of 5)
